Short answer is: VERY IMPORTANT!
Always keep in mind that everything counts. Summertime is a fun time, but also a season when your skin is pretty vulnerable to UV rays; that’s why having a holistic skincare routine -More like a lifestyle- is so important.
Today our main character is Vitamin C, and we’ll show you how to boost its properties and use it to create a powerful skincare routine.
Let the fun begging!
What’s behind Vitamin C?
Let’s begin with simple theory, because you shouldn’t add anything that you don’t know about to your skincare routine.
Vitamin D is a highly potent antioxidant that helps in the neutralization of free radicals. The result of this is the natural regeneration process of damaged skin cells. For example, UV damage can be reduced by the neutralization of the production of these radicals -how?- with vitamin C.
But don’t get me wrong, this is not a substitute for your sunblock!
But that’s not it, our bff promotes collagen production and is a great antioxidant booster. Collagen gives your skin the support that naturally misses your skin while we’re getting older. Another cool effect is that Vitamin C Helps in the process of reducing hyperpigmentations -or dark spots- in your skin. How? Because it blocks the pathway of pigment synthesis.
Where to find it
There are different ways of adding Vitamin C to your skincare routine. Dermatologists usually recommend using serum because it is more effective than toners or creams, and you can mix it with vitamin E to get better results. If this is your favorite option, you should apply it after washing your face in the morning and before putting on your moisturizer.
Although this is a powerful way of getting Vitamin C -such as vitamin pills-, it is important to keep a diet high in vitamins and this isn’t limited to citrus fruits! Tomatoes and peppers are rich with vitamin C too!
