Why Water Should Be Your #1 Beauty Investment (Seriously, Check This Out!)

Good, ole fashion H2o. It really is amazing how among the MILLIONS of beauty trends that pop up each and every year, water is always at the top of the list of effective beauty remedies. Ever wondered why that is? Because it’s not actually a trend at all, it’s an essential part of our wellbeing. It’s a must to not only feel our best, but also look our best.

Let’s start with the basics

The starting point for all things gorgeous (like you!) stems from hydration. So find a calculator that uses your specific stats and find out exactly how much you should be drinking. Like most things in life, general recommendations for water consumption are just that...general. Things may look slightly different for you. We like this one specifically. Just in case you weren’t already aware, water helps with the detoxing and purification process. Allowing your body to do what it was made to do

REDUCE Anti-Aging Products

When you give your body what it needs, it glows. Having properly hydrated skin decreases the appearance of wrinkles, plumps the skin and aids in skins’ elasticity naturally. Many anti-aging products encourage cell turnover rapidly. Our skin at one point was able to do this on its own in our younger years. But water can actually do this better than any of those products and should come first and foremost before anything else.

REDUCE the need for moisturizers

You should always keep a moisturizer as part of your routine. But water helps maintain skin's balance and can give you a better understanding of what kind of moisturizer it needs and how much. So many skincare symptoms and issues can intertwine with one another and make choosing products confusing with all that’s available.

REDUCE Skin Flare-ups (Acne)

When Skin is dehydrated, it can kick your skin into overdrive to compensate for any loss. This can cause an overproduction of oil and thus cause breakouts. If you’re not sure if the skin is dehydrated, click here for help!

REDUCE Skin Flare-Ups (Eczema, Psoriasis)

If you suffer from Eczema, Psoriasis or any of their annoying dry skin friends, you know that you genetically are often destined to have dry skin and flare-ups as a result. Drinking enough water and having an appropriate shower temperature that isn’t too hot can help prevent flare-ups.

LESS Cellulite Creams and Treatments.

Cellulite affects about 90% of women at some point in their life. We are firm believers in the fact that as a society, there is no need to spend so much energy on fighting it. Allow yourself to feel good and accept that you are beautiful just as you are. Women of all shapes and sizes “suffer” from it. However If it truly bothers you, remember that water is one of the BEST things for cellulite. Hydrated skin on the face glows and appears firmer and smooth; just as we’ve mentioned above. The same works for the skin on your thighs, booty and stomach. It also aids in the body's natural process to detox and help with lymphatic drainage which contributes to dimply skin.

The skincare benefits alone from water consumption is amazing. But it truly does go so much further than that. Consuming the appropriate amount of water, you’ll soon see improvements in your hair and nails too. Not to mention improvement within the overall functioning of your body.

With our crazy lifestyles in 2020, it’s easy to slack on self-care and forget the basic requirements our body needs like water, sleep and nutrition. But prioritizing these things alleviates the extra products we use to make up for it. “Investing” in water puts more money back into your pocket AND leaves you looking beautiful naturally. Sounds like a win-win to us, so drink up buttercup! ;)
