Timesaving Skin Care Tips for Busy Moms (especially when the kids are stuck at home!)

Being a mom is tricky business. I can personally attest to this fact. Some days are way easier than others, but one thing always remains the same, it is so difficult to find time for ourselves isn’t it? Add in COVID-19, no school and suddenly your typical 15 minutes of alone time turns into zero, zilch, nada! You just lost your free time.

We’re here to rescue you mama! Check out these tips below that will shorten your routine, make you feel more relaxed, and reduce some of the biggest time-consuming skin care issues in a flash.

Skip a Wash

The general guideline is to wash your face twice a day. At night being the most important especially for women who wear makeup throughout their day. That being said, if you are someone who experiences dryness occasionally, you may be able to skip that wash all together and actually benefit from it. May be worth a shot!

Sleep!

Easier said than done yes, but if you can grab an extra hour it really will make your skin look so much better. We know it’s tempting to stay up and watch an extra episode of your favorite show, but your skin and under eye bags will thank you in the morning. Thus causing less time spent on your skincare routine in general.

Sleep Elevated

If you have a puffy face and swollen eyes upon waking and rely on under eye and jade rollers to help, consider sleeping more elevated. It will automatically drain fluid and removes the need for de-puffing products in the morning.

Take Supplements

There are supplements that when taken regularly can help the appearance of your skin, and prevent further damage. Consider adding Vitamin C, Omega 3’s, or Vitamin B which all have skincare benefits. Simply remembering to take a multivitamin can be beneficial. Many of us are simply not getting what our bodies and skin need from nutrition alone.

Know Your Skin Type

Oh ya, that little piece of knowledge is more important than you realize. If you really want to save time and money, figure this out! Quit wasting your time with products that aren’t made for you specifically. Skin care is in no way a one size fits all operation. You can figure it out quickly here

Use Sun Screen

If you’re one of the few people left that have not begun taking sun-care seriously, START NOW. It’ll save you so much time and money in the long run we promise! There are way too many good self tanners out there if you still long to be a bronzed beauty.

Use Multi-Tasking Products

By far one of the most important parts of this list. If you can find products that cleanse while gently exfoliating simultaneously, that’s where the real time gets saved. Find a product that exfoliates but moisturizes removing the need for creams or lotions? Cleanse, exfoliate AND moisturize like this? BINGO! Or find a moisturizer with SPF right in it. You get the point, when less can be more and it works for you….then allow it!

At the end of the day, the BEST way to save time? Prioritize you! This is the first adjustment that many of us simply fail to do. Times can be tough, but do your best to make healthy and mindful choices throughout your day. The result? You simply won’t have the need for some of these products to begin with. Don’t allow self care to fall to the bottom of your to-do list. It begins quite simply, take care of yourself and you’ll glow more from the inside out!
