There’s absolutely no need to break the bank to get access to a great facial. To get you glowing your best on Valentine’s Day, here’s a face mask routine you can easily do. 

Things you need:

  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of rolled oats or oat bran
  • 1 tablespoon of manuka or raw honey

How the ingredients work:

Honey: Honey isn’t only satisfying to our palates, but also to our skin. Raw honey has long been used as a natural remedy to multiple problems because it’s packed with antioxidants and antibacterial properties. Plus, this superfood also works as a humectant to keep your skin as moisturized and as plump as possible.

Oats: Oatmeal is rich in anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants to keep the skin away from dryness, irritation, and acne. Its texture also provides exfoliation to get rid of the built-up dead skin cells to reveal brighter and glowing skin.

Avocado: The vitamins, fats, and all the goodness present in this superfruit soothes various skin issues and protects the skin from damage. Avocado also helps relieve breakouts while effectively hydrating the skin.

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl or container, mash a quarter of a ripe avocado.
  2. Add a tablespoon of manuka or raw honey and a spoonful of rolled oats or oat bran to the mix.
  3. Combine and mix all the ingredients until the desired consistency is achieved. 
  4. Apply the face mask liberally on a dry, clean face.
  5. Wait for 10 minutes.
  6. Rinse with lukewarm water thoroughly.
  7. Follow-up with your favorite moisturizer and you’re done!
